Cheque scandal grows: Liberals reveal five more Conservative MPs in ethics probe
OTTAWA - The Conservative cheque scandal has now grown to include at least 60 Conservative MPs, Liberal MP Wayne Easter said today.
Mr. Easter announced he will file an additional five complaints with the Ethics Commissioner over MPs who personally signed government presentation cheques or had their own name prominently displayed at funding photo ops.
"This is not their money. This is the hard-earned tax dollars of all Canadians," said Mr. Easter. "Canadians know it is wrong for Conservative MPs to pass government money off as if it is their own.
“These MPs and the Prime Minister shouldn't have to wait for the Ethics Commissioner to tell them the difference between right and wrong. They should stop politicizing government announcements now."
