New Film Studio in Kelowna!

GRAPEVINE PICTURE WORKS INKS PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH ACTOR/DIRECTOR JASON PRIESTLEY
Kelowna, BC May 26, 2008 – Okanagan based Grapevine Picture Works, Inc., has signed a partnership agreement with Actor/Director Jason Priestley to work towards a business plan for a highly anticipated Okanagan based film studio, and the development of film and television projects that will highlight the region and/or utilize the new studio.
“The Province of BC has made some strong pushes for regional filming and the Okanagan is well positioned to capitalize on the interest and added incentives for filming here. All information points to the viability of a studio. It’s really now all about infrastructure development and incentives required to keep the industry strong. The studio marks a big step forward for the region, and I’m glad to be working on it with Grapevine” said Priestley this month.
“It’s really encouraging to collaborate with people like Jason Priestley who really understand the potential we have here, and who are willing to work hard with us and a committed group within the region in order to help bring our industry to a new level”, says Sara Shaak – Grapevine partner and Head of Production.
“The Okanagan product is well received by the producers I’ve been meeting at the international markets and the studio and project activity to be developed through this agreement is really going to bolster our marketability for further investment,” echos Nolan Pielak – Head of Distribution and Grapevine partner.
Grapevine Picture Works is a multi-faceted film corporation in British Columbia. Partners Nolan Pielak and Sara Shaak have worked within the film industry for more than 25 years combined and have experience in the development of viable film and television productions. Notably, Sara Shaak was the Film Commissioner for the Okanagan area and prior to that - in Northern British Columbia. She has a strong understanding of, and passion for, supporting film industry development opportunities within the Interior regions of BC.
BC born Actor/Director Jason Priestley has enjoyed an extensive 20+ year career in the film and television industry. Most recently he has expanded his business interests in British Columbia by joining a group of investors in ownership of the Black Hills Winery, located in South Okanagan wine country.
