Young cancer patient hits ice with Rebagliati and Reitman

Seven-year-old Emily Wong has been waging a two-year war against rhabdomyo sarcoma, a rare muscle cancer that mutated in her brain.

But this Sunday, the Richmond girl will forget her disease for a while as she and six other Make-A-Wish kids take on local sports stars and celebrities in the NHL 07 Challenge in Burnaby.

Olympic snowboarder Ross Rebagliati and B.C. Lions Bobby Singh, Sherko Haji Rasouli, Lyle Green, Jason Jimenez, Ryan Thelwell and Alexis Bwenge, as well as movie director Jason Reitman will give the children a run for their money in a fun

Join Mayor Sam Sullivan at a special early evening celebration event to witness the official lighting of the Olympic and Paralympic flags at Vancouver City Hall. Following O Canada by a local youth choir, speeches and the lighting, there will be free hot chocolate for all. This event marks the official three year countdown to the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

Gold Medal Plates

I hosted a martini party and final dinner for the Gold Medal Plates this past weekend at the Hilton Resort in Spa in Whistler, BC. The martini party was Friday night. I had to get up and give a speech about my Olympic experience and then they had my father get up and give his side of the story.  ;)

We had dinner at the Bearfoot Bistro afterward and sabered some champagne.

The next night I hosted the finals of the Culinary Champions. They had competitions across Canada and the 7 winning chefs were brought to Whistler to compete for the title of Canadian Culinary Champion. Each chef prepared a small size meal and we all had to go around and taste
